No-Gi Grappling

ENHANCE YOUR SKILLS WITH GI AND NO-GI TRAINING!

To become a well-rounded Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, it’s crucial to train in both gi and no-gi grappling.  Each style offers unique techniques and challenges and focusing on just one can leave gaps in your overall skill set.  By training in both, you’ll gain a more comprehensive understanding of the sport and sharpen your adaptability on the mat.

Why Train No-Gi?

  • Similar Principles, Different Challenges: No-gi uses many of the same principles as gi jiu-jitsu, but without the gi to grab, you’ll face the challenge of controlling a sweaty, slippery opponent.
  • Focus on Control: Training no-gi forces you to improve your center control and pins, leading to a faster-paced experience.
  • Enhanced Holds and Submissions: With no gi to assist your grip, your holds and submissions become stronger and more precise.
  • Real-World Application: No-gi is often considered superior for street and MMA fights, where opponents won’t be wearing a gi.  Although clothing can be used in self-defense, it’s typically not as strong as a gi, making speed and efficiency crucial.

Training in no-gi submission grappling will accelerate your overall BJJ game and enhance your enjoyment of the sport.
