Adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Our Adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program is led by multiple BJJ Black Belt instructors, each with decades of experience at the highest levels of the sport.  They’ll be right there on the mat, training alongside you and offering personalized feedback to help you grow and improve.

If you’re new to BJJ, we encourage you to start with our BJJ Fundamentals program.  This class will help you get comfortable with the basics of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, ensuring you have a solid foundation to build on.

HOW WE WORK

Our instructors follow a carefully planned monthly curriculum, designed to ensure steady progress and development.  Each week, we focus on a specific set of techniques, building on what was learned the previous week.  This method helps students gradually master the skills necessary for advancement.

Each technique involves multiple setups for submissions, along with various ways to defend and counter them.  These techniques are drilled in class, reinforcing what you’ve learned while preparing you for the next set of lessons.

Practice and Progress

  • Saturday Open Mat: This session allows our team to practice and refine everything they’ve learned throughout the week, giving students a chance to apply their skills in a live setting.
  • Q&A and Sparring: On the last Saturday of each month, our instructors hold a Q&A session to ensure everyone fully understands the material.  This is followed by an open mat sparring session, where the instructor evaluates each student’s progress.  This assessment helps determine if a student is ready for promotion.

What To Expect

When you attend an Adult BJJ class, you’ll begin with a 15-minute warm-up to prepare your body for the session.

Next, the instructor will demonstrate one of several techniques, which you’ll then practice with a partner.  As you drill, the instructor will evaluate your form and offer personalized feedback.

Once you feel comfortable with the technique, your partner will add resistance to help you adapt and refine your skills.  Learning to execute submissions and adjust when they’re defended provides essential insights into the technical aspects of BJJ.

At the end of class, you’ll participate in open mat sparring, where the instructor continues to evaluate your technique in a live setting.
